Catching Critical Transition in Engineered Systems

چکیده
A variety of engineered systems can encounter critical transitions where the system suddenly shifts from one stable state to another at a threshold. The transition has aroused vital concerns for its potentially disastrous impacts. We validate an often taken-for-granted hypothesis that failure be attributed respective and show how early warning signals are closely associated with transitions. demonstrate it is feasible use predict failures. Our findings open new path forecast failures generic method provide supporting evidence universal existence in dynamical multiple scales.

Rationing in health systems: A critical review
Background: It is difficult to provide health care services to all those in need of such services due to limited resources and unlimited demands. Thus, priority setting and rationing have to be applied. This study aimed at critically examining the concept of rationing in health sector and identifying its purposes, influencing factors, mechanisms, and outcomes. Methods: The c...

century, a new era that will be far more scientific, technologic, and sophisticated than anyone would have imagined just a quarter of a century ago. However, the continued success in all areas of pharmaceutical science will depend entirely on how fast pharmaceutical scientists will adapt to rapidly changing technology. Almost 10 years ago, a survey by Shangraw and Demarest revealed a very inter...
متن کاملCritical Exponents for the Metal–Insulator Transition in Disordered Systems
The critical exponents of the metal–insulator transition in disordered systems have been the subject of much published work containing often contradictory results. Values ranging between 1/2 and 2 can be found even in the recent literature. In this paper the results of a long term study of the transition are presented. The data have been calculated with sufficient accuracy (0.2%) that the calcu...
متن کاملCritical properties of the metal-insulator transition in anisotropic systems
We study the three-dimensional Anderson model of localization with anisotropic hopping, i.e., weakly coupled chains and weakly coupled planes. In our extensive numerical study we identify and characterize the metal-insulator transition by means of the transfer-matrix method. The values of the critical disorder Wc obtained are consistent with results of previous studies, including multifractal a...
متن کاملGeneration Process and Performance Evaluation of Engineered Microsphere Agarose Adsorbent for Application in Fluidized-bed Systems
In this research, the generation process of engineered microsphere agarose adsorbent has been explained that has surfaces with different active sites to adsorb protein nanoparticles into the fluidized-bed system. Also, excellent selectivity of protein nanoparticles, high adsorption capacity, and fast equilibrium rate through the eco-friendly polymeric adsorbents were vital aims in here. Hence, ...
